Travel insurance: You must obtain travel insurance before you travel to Nepal, and this should be specialist insurance that covers high altitude hikes. Additional notes: Tipping local sherpas and porters is standard practice, please budget $150-200 for this. You should also have an emergency fund of $500 set aside, you likely won’t need to touch this money, but please make sure you have it in case.
